“Echoes of the Fallen” DLC launches Friday, “The Rising Tide” launches next spring
Kodoani.com – Square Enix has just revealed new trailers for two upcoming DLC pieces, “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide,” for the game Final Fantasy XVI during The Game Awards event on Thursday. “Echoes of the Fallen” will officially premiere on Friday, while “The Rising Tide” is expected to be released next spring.
Final Fantasy XVI officially launched on June 22 exclusively for PlayStation 5, as an exclusive title on the PlayStation system until December 31.
Square Enix describes the game as follows:
“A dark and powerful fantasy world where the fate of the land depends on the power of the Eikons and the Dominions who wield them. The story revolves around Clive Rosfield, a warrior honored with the title ‘Rosaria’s First Shield,’ wishes to protect her younger brother Joshua, a Phoenix. Clive’s journey will quickly turn into a great tragedy, as he vows to pursue his vengeance with the Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings disaster.”
Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit III developed the game, with production by Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV) and direction by Hiroshi Takai (Final Fantasy XIV). The song “Tsuki Wo Miteita – Moongazing” was performed by Kenshi Yonezu.
Notably, Final Fantasy XVI will feature a stage musical from the Takarazuka Revue, a famous female team. The musical will run at Takarazuka Grand Theater from May 17 to June 23, 2024, and at Tokyo Takarazuka Theater from July 13 to August 25, 2024, starring Toa Serika and Sakura Haruno.
