CBR Anime Week brought to you by HULU ANIMAYHEM
The 2004 animated film Howl's Moving Castle is celebrating its 20th anniversary this fall. In time for the upcoming anniversary, the official Studio Ghibli store is selling an officially licensed lunch set based on the fantasy film.
Donguri Sora, the official online store for Studio Ghibli, is selling two lunch items inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's magical film. The first item is a wallet-style lunch bag with an aluminum-like coating on the inside. The bag also includes mesh pockets for ice packs or other items, as well as a double zipper for easy opening and closing. The second item is a tote designed to hold two eating utensils, such as chopsticks and a spoon, both of which are included in the set.

Both items in this lunch pack feature a special illustration based on a memorable scene from Howl's Moving Castle. The featured image is of Howl teaching Sophie Hatter how to fly, holding her hand up from behind—a literal visual metaphor for falling in love and just one of many in Howl's Moving Castle. This romantic moment between the two occurs early in the film as Howl is running away from his pursuers.
The Howl's Moving Castle lunch bag costs 2,310 yen ($14.30), while the lunch box costs 1,210 yen ($7.49). Both prices include tax. Both anime-themed lunch items are also labeled as restocked, meaning they may go out of stock again soon. This is especially true since Howl's Moving Castle is one of the most popular films in Studio Ghibli's library, attracting new fans and inspiring new products every year.
