Crunchyroll has announced the launch of its upcoming new podcast, “Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect,” scheduled for release starting February 16, 2024.
Crunchyroll and Sony Music Entertainment’s The Anime Effect will be a weekly roundtable podcast that “highlights anime’s influence on the broader cultural zeitgeist,” according to a press release. The podcast will air weekly in English on all major podcast platforms starting February 16, with new episodes every Friday. The video version will air on Crunchyroll, YouTube, and other platforms, including the Crunchyroll Channel, later this year. Crunchyroll Premium subscribers can watch ad-free versions of the videos on the app. The first podcast trailer, seen below, features the podcast’s main trio: news writer Nicholas Friedman, Chief Brand Officer LeAlec Murray, and President Partnerships Officer Leah.
