Anime The Witch and the Beast revealed a new key visual on Thursday following the release of episode 5. The series is produced by studio Yokohama Animation Lab and is expected to consist of 12 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming new episodes of the anime every Thursday.

Takayuki Hamana (The Prince of Tennis) will direct The Witch and the Beast while Yuuichirou Momose (So I’m a Spider, So What?) is in charge of writing the series. Hiroya Iijima (Afro Samurai) is in charge of character design and Hirotsugu Kakoi (Inuyasha) is art director. Hanae Nakamura and Tsumi Tabuchi (The Quintessential Quintuplets) will compose the music.
The Witch and the Beast anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Kousuke Satake. It originally began serialization in Young Magazine on Tuesday until it was transferred to the seinen Monthly Young Magazine due to the latter’s closure. The series went on a two-month hiatus in early 2023 due to Satake’s health and has since been extended with no news of its return. Chapter 58 is the latest chapter of the series released in November 2022.
Crunchyroll is streaming The Witch and the Beast and describes the series as follows: Guideau is a young woman cursed by a witch, forced to carry a dark secret. Ashaf is a tall, soft-spoken man who carries a coffin on his back and has untold secrets. Together they adventure across the land in search of revenge. Appearances can be deceiving and each step could be their last. In a dark fantasy full of adventure, can unlikely heroes find the revenge they seek?
